Christopher H. Mathis

Christopher H. Mathis, J.D., M.P.A., M.P.H., is a lawyer focusing on Elder Law, Estate Planning and Health Care Law. He formerly served as director of policy and communications for the Healthcare Markets and Regulation Lab in the Department of Health Care Policy at Harvard Medical School and as a health care and aging legislative assistant in the United States Senate.

Mr. Mathis is a Professor of Practice at the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona. He designed and currently teaches two courses, Aging in America and Legal and Regulatory Fundamentals for Health Care Business.

He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), past president of NAELA’s Arizona Chapter, past chair of the Elder Law, Mental Health & Special Needs Executive Council of the State Bar of Arizona and a member of the Arizona Society of Healthcare Attorneys (AzSHA). Mr. Mathis earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Illinois, his Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School and his Master of Public Health with health care policy concentration from the Harvard School of Public Health.
